My schtick as a ghost will be to haunt all the things that people dont think can be haunted or have no significance at all. Like you'll be taking off on a flight and ill pop out like "boo haha im the ghost of this exact altitude"
I think I want to be a good ghost like finding me unlocks a special item or some forbidden secret of the afterlife that is impossible for you to express to other mortals. Actually I think I would be more of a well meaning but error prone ghost where i try to help you out but actually make everything much worse

Since that was one year before his death and apparently he wanted ppl in the future to figure out why he was deaf im guessing that is why? The spookier part is like how was he SO RIGHT about the ability for hair to do exactly that, like he didnt know anything about DNA or metabolite or heavy metals analysis or anything
