De Nederlandse Vereniging van Banken (NVB) wil meer duidelijkheid over het ontwerp en de impact van de digitale euro. Ook over de rol van banken bij de distributie bij mogelijke introductie van de digitale euro is veel nog niet helder. Het wetsvoorstel dat de introductie van een publieke digitale euro mogelijk maakt en dat de Europese Commissie vandaag heeft gepubliceerd, laat nog veel vragen onbeantwoord"
