My Dad has super high blood pressure and worries too much. He also won’t stop watching the news. I don’t know what I can do to break his bad habits that make this problem worse.

@idoubtit Some people get a sense of identity and feelings of belonging from certain TV networks or political factions. Taking that away from them must be done slowly and gently, or else it may feel to them like an attack. Can you find a substitute to replace his News addiction? Or maybe take him on a trip away from social media and TV. There's a podcast called "you are not so smart" that talks about cognition and psychology that may give you some ideas.

@ambulocetus Oh he knows it’s bad for him. It’s a habit. I don’t live nearby so it’s hard for me to push a change.

@idoubtit Could you like substitute him over to something like Ground News so he is getting a more balanced and less controversial, contentious, controversial, less drama llama hype cycle?

@bytor He’s so old school and set in his ways. Has to watch the local and network news and read the local paper. He doesn’t have a smart phone.
