Being a candidate in an election process does NOT entail immunity from prosecution or punishment. Neither does, in particular, having held an office. Only holding office grants (temporary) immunity.
And this has been 's endgame...until can the constitution + revoke the 22nd Amendment1), analogous to what 's authoritarian idol has done in 2020.
