My twelve days away from “work work” end after the weekend, but my stress levels are still at 11.

I’m so bad at relaxing these days. Even if I don’t do anything or do enjoyable things (Hiking, Lego, watching TV), it’s all stressful.

I don’t know what to do, and I guess this is all burnout-consequences still after many years.

sigh, exhausted

I think one of my source for frustration this week is the realization that I won’t be able to get some of my sources of energy back from before the (2020) pandemic as the world is still and will for a long time be inaccessible for me.

I’m good at leaving previous lives behind me, discarding them like an old t-shirt, never to be looked at again. Sometimes I think back at them fondly, but in reality it only matters what you do now. (1/2)

I have started to build new things, but being tired and unmotivated is an obstacle. Breaking this viscous circle is tough. But, that said, thanks for all the support I have, I’m lucky that I have it. (2/2)

@yatil my batteries recharge not when I do things that other people consider relaxation things but really just do whatever I want the moment I want to do them. It leads to super chaotic spending of time but I guess it relaxes me because I don’t have to fit a certain mold. It also helps me to exercise and really tire myself, by going cycling. Hope either of these suggestions help somehow! 🙏

@Anneke I really envy people who can get energy from exhausting themselves. We did a quite easy hike, all things considered, two days ago and I lost all energy since then.

Doing what I like to do is always good. And I do that. But there’s so much!

@yatil Wünsche dir, dass du aus diesem Stress rauskommst. Ich kenne das in Ansätzen, wenn ich an manchem Wochenende nicht zu Ruhe kommen kann.

@roblen Danke dir!

@yatil I think eventually the coping strategies can't keep up and the only answer is less work

@TSindelar I already only do 4 days a week (plus the stuff in my “free time”, but that doesn’t count, right 😂) – I think it’s mostly structure and type of work. A lot is currently open-ended, and so I need to keep stuff in my head more instead of closing it out. But yeah, I try to do less where possible.
