I wonder sometimes how much our perception of Apocalypse is rooted in Catholic catechism.

Consider: Christianity and Islam both share a perception of inevitablity to the end of the world. The idea is that, we cannot know the day, and we cannot know the hour, but the return of God, and the judgement of Humans is perpetually neigh.

I wonder if this feeds into folks' indulgence in stuff like prepping, or fatalism over climate change. So many of us seem to WANT the world to end, simply because we believe it HAS to end.

What if we redid that? What if we saw this as something to save?

@mitch the concept of "apocalypse", to me, is less about the physical world and more concerning the perceptions of it.
