@gglockner I usually split my stay into two parts. West and East. I never try to cross it when I am in each area. That was good advice given by a friend. Within each area there are neighborhoods so large they’re functionally larger than the city I live in. It’s relatively easy to navigate within small areas. I’ve been taking buses everywhere on the west side. It’s not great but it’s fine. The trains are not great. But they did get me from east to west in an hour.
@gglockner I will probably miss bike culture in SF. It feels impossible to not participate in car culture here. At the same time, I cycle a lot but feel like I’m losing my marbles in SF, and have a found a certain amount of peace here, despite all the things I don’t like on paper.
@skinnylatte@gglockner oh no! Are you leaving? Definitely go where you’ll be happiest but it makes me so sad to see SF lose interesting people. I’m so hopeful its next iteration is something way better than the tech bro shit.
