11 May 1939 | A French Jewish boy, Alain Kartouzou, was born in Constantine in Algeria.
He arrived at Auschwitz on 30 March 1944 in a transport of 1,000 Jews deported from Drancy. He was among 472 of them murdered in a gas chamber after the selection.
