My family is notoriously difficult to shop for. We don't tend to think in terms of things, and we don't really talk about things we want.
For #MothersDay this year, I'm picking up wings from a local restaurant. Yes. This thrills my mum because she hasn't had them in years. It means no cooking that (Wednesday) night and we get to eat in.
See, if I ask her what she wants, she starts thinking in terms of the horses or the cat (or the dog, before he passed), or something for around the house. For gifts, she'd rather have an experience than an object.
