author note: the "wicked" is not an affectation; I actually grew up saying it and still make use of this useful linguistic intensifier to this very day.
@gbhnews I take it you're from southeastern New England somewhere, then. Seems the further one goes in that direction, the more likely one is to say "wicked" unironically. (I've lived in Boston, Portsmouth RI, and several other places in between.)

One of my favorite offbeat FB groups is one of MBTA enthusiasts where they just share photos of buses and train cars, along with intensely detailed commentary on the vehicles. There is great excitement every time a subway line shuts down for repairs because that means many different hired-for-the-occasion shuttle buses.
