Occasionally they throw these errors.
And as your instance grows, you'll find new ones like "no tomes available" because of their peculiar modus operandi that Mastodon, as a S3-API compatible client, isn't designed to work as Backblaze wants.
But if you plan to stay small, they're the cheapest. You can also try Cloudflare R2 (no outgoing fees) and OVH Object Storage.
I have talked with elevated support on and off for a couple months and the "no tomes available" happens throughout the day as they intentionally throttle connections based on peaks. They suggest raising the number of retry attempts and increasing the timeout before retries.
