you need two GPUs

okay, i used GPU passthrough for about 3-4 years
there are ways to hide youre in a VM. and the vast majority of non-competitive games dont care anyways
no you dont. theres a script you can run that'll unbind the tty from the GPU and reset it before you boot your VM. yah, you wont be getting your linux display back until you full restart your system, but on a server with SSH thats fine anyways
the only valid point on this 8 minute video. i switched to bare metal cuz i was losing about 70% performance with my new GPU for some reason and i couldn't figure out why. perhaps if i kept at it, i could've solved it, but... i wanted to play video games at that point
