@sclower A Beelink Mini Pc, although I'm about ready to tank the OEM windows install and do one myself because holy mother of Satan, this one sucks an economy size bag of unclipped wieners. As in, Meepers just had to #EatAnother to talk herself out of downloading a Windows 11 Pro image and throwing it on a thumb drive.
@FluidEscence@sclower I sigh fucking noticed. Now, picture me actually saying that while sighing, which I'm told only I manage to do. This thing is buggered beyond all belief. It looks like someone did it drunk.
@Meepercat@FluidEscence@sclower Most manufacturer installs of anything suck. This is why I appreciate being able to by my computers with no OS installed.
@FluidEscence@sclower And it looks mind you, like I'd have to get into the bios of the accursed thing to be able to install from bootable media. Oh isn't that just so cute and adorable and squeaky!
@Meepercat@sclower no, in theory, not necessarily. Provided you have an actual bootable USB plugged in, down arrow once, enter. Works on almost every machine almost every time for me.
@Meepercat@sclower all you have to do is on a working windows PC, download the windows 11 media creation tool, and follow the setup instructions with a USB drive of I think it's 8 or more GB plugged in. That produces bootable USB's reliably. So does Rufus, if you actually already have a windows ISO around somewhere and you don't wanna waste bandwidth.
@Meepercat@bmoore123 there is a setting somewhere in bluetooth that you can tell it what kind of devices to allow to connect, I can't remember where that setting is though dammit
@Meepercat@FluidEscence you got headphones or something with a mic connected? if you want, happy to do a rim session with voice and see if we can sort it out.
@bmoore123@FluidEscence Headphones? Yeah that's part of the thing here, I have... a cheap 3.5mm pair of ... earbuds. As my headset right now. The only comfortable headsets I own with the ear monster are... bluetooth. so, this be a problem
@FluidEscence@Meepercat@sclower Yeah. To be honest I think the normal reset option with the cloud download thing checked would also work. That should reinstall Windows from an official microsoft image. But making a Windows drive, reinstalling, and nuking Windows.old will also work.
@simon@FluidEscence@Meepercat@sclower The most foolproof way of a clean install ir of course to format the disk, there's no telling what it might read from windows.old in terms of OEM shit
