@camless @paulknightly Yep, definitely seems like it. There's some grass roots efforts to fight that--here in our local county, there's a lot of talk and movement to re-integrate EMS into the fire service... especially due to underinvestment in services and high costs. A lot of privatization had to do with reducing pension costs here, but governments are unhappy with the ever increasing contract expense increases, where a monopoly EMS provider is able to threaten to pull service if counties don't pony up for higher rates to feed the maw of private equity (vs. increasing rates for labor and better service, the rates are going direct to the investors).
