This sounds obvious, but many washers/dryers sit on pedestals now….huge bulky things…I was set to buy a pair a few months ago until my son pointed out I’m so short that I’d never be able to reach in and get clean clothes out.
(I went with Maytag replacements for the ones that lasted 23 years - 100% satisfied).
