Far too many people with significant experience in tech: "I will never understand why the vast majority of ordinary people don't want to set up their own web hosting and servers".
I mean, do you really not understand? It's obvious, surely? All the stuff you do is actually difficult and it's easy to you because you've invested a lot of time in it, and other people haven't.
I wonder if other skilled professions do this. Are mechanics baffled that customers don't want to rebuild gearboxes?
@hughster It's also convenience. I just have to look at myself. I already thought for example about hosting my own #mastodon server, but it costs additional time...
