Em, German

one thing I still have to learn in my practice is to be satisfied with how I end my cultus ritual.

Normaly, I give praises and words of thanks to the God first, then I give my offerings, then I ask for things if there is anything and then I close by thanking for their attention and protection.

It feels so weird afterwards to get "back to normal". To see the smoke of the resin and herbs still emerging from the coal...

Maybe it's just anxiety :D

How is it for others?

@Em I know exactly what you're talking about. In my own view and practice, when I get this feeling it's because I have not "grounded" properly after the rite, so I'll take the time to send any energies I raised back to the earth. This is more of a mystical answer, though.

In a more literal and historical sense, grounding is the part of the ritual where a bite of food is taken at the end, or a feast is had, something as routine and mechanical as eating and drinking to bring the mind back to present, mundane life.

So basically my answer is drunken feasting, lol 🤣
