Seems more likeky a racist is butt hurt because someone called him out for being racist than what they're telling everyone here with their copy/pasted responses
I don’t know about a Lemmy server with zero censorship, as I believe it is important to follow local law wherever the server is hosted. I certainly wouldn’t want to find any illegal content on a server I was a part of. But there are some servers that are perhaps more loose with what they consider to be content you cannot post on their server. I do not know any by name, but I know they exist.
Lemmy is a typically very politically left leaning platform, so I would imagine language that does not align with that would be causing you problems. You might try to look for an instance that is less left leaning, which may be easy to find as instances with opposing political views often defederate from each other very quickly. Which is honestly kinda like when some subreddits would auto-ban you because you participated in a different subreddit the mods didn’t like.

I feel that it’s a bit of an overreach to straight up ban certain language and “bad words” especially when there’s a proper context to use such language.
Why would you have to write that out? Just say “they said the N word with a hard R referring to me.”
I don’t like when people ban words either, but I didn’t program Lemmy nor host a server, and neither did you. So you either follow the rules of Lemmy or leave, thats how it is. No different with private property or businesses, really. If the rules say you gotta wear periwinkle crocs and click your heels three times before posting, then thats what you gotta do or you leave. There is no requirement to stay, afterall. Who knows, maybe there is a platform that is better than Lemmy? You can start your search any time.
I understand all that, which is why I asked if there was a server other than Lemmy.world which doesn’t ban the use of words like that. Currently I do plan on leaving Lemmy if I cannot find a server that refuses censorship, with the exception of calls for violence. I’m not hell bent on arguing here, I just want to know if there’s a server within the federation here that people can post freely without the banning of certain words.
If you guys all lean left with Lemmy, then I am coming to an understanding now of why Lemmy will never take off like Reddit did, and why you guys are so hostile over my concern and immediately jumping to the defense of Lemmy rather than engaging in a conversation or steering me in a good direction, which bums me out as I was very excited to join.

Yeah like others asked can you elaborate on what you were being censored for? I haven’t had issues with being censored by reddit and just started using lemmy due to wanting an alternative to try after the third party api change.
So I am curious what exactly you are posting that is getting censored if it was also considered bad enough on reddit.

You could have still used “n-word” when referring to that word. It doesn’t matter what context, certain words have been historically used to oppress people so we no longer use them.
