I do like that Chris Pine has the insight to say that Trek movies should cost less to make and should be a little more fan-oriented instead of chasing the action crowd. I feel like that's actually pretty close to what the D&D movie ended up being, maybe he has a knack for staring in those sorts of things.
I think there's still hope. At least, that's my take on this article, even though it has some doom-laden words about the ongoing search for a director, etc.
This was based on a leaked date for Star Trek 4 and the fact that nothing came out after make me sure the leak wasn't true to begin with. It is possible they had slated to have it out by the middle of 2023 but that would have been just a estimated date for investors since nothing else about the movie really exists.
