How to access personal DNS setup through VPS+Reverse Proxy setup?

Hi, I was planning on the VPS+Reverse proxy setup instead of port-forwarding from my home address (basically, Wireguard VPN to VPS box which will host a reverse proxy, be hardened and only open necessary ports). I will be hosting Pi-Hole+Unbound at home, and would like to access it from outside. I do not want to share my DNS...

Okay, be honest everyone, is there really anything that is as powerful as plexamp's sonic analysis, and track radios? I'm using Navidrome, but it is not even remotely the same thing.

I'm happy that I have navidrome setup, and it even forced me to make sure all my tags were beautiful and setup how I like them, but it's undeniable that Plex had the upper hand on open sourced music projects....

I setup a Friendica instance earlier in the week. Turns out the DNS queries had increased somewhat dramatically (lemmy.fwgx.uk)

I set up friendica as my first foray on to the fediverse. It worked well, but as it turns out doesn't work that well with Lemmy, which was my main usecase. Well whilst trying to fix DNS issues setting up a Lemmy instance instead, I noticed my DNS logs were rather full. My Unbound DNS was getting 40k requests every 10 mins to...

If you use Proxmox, check out these scripts. There are dozens of helper scripts that will automate configuring Proxmox and creating LXCs and VMs for popular services. (tteck.github.io)

From the Github Repo Readme: These scripts enable users to build a Linux container or virtual machine in an interactive manner, offering options for both basic and advanced configurations. The basic setup utilizes default settings, whereas the advanced setup empowers users to alter these default settings. Through the use of the...

is it normal that a wireguard docker container provides "low" networkspeed for connecting containers?

I'm using a wireguard docker container to provide vpn connection to a qbittorrent container. When I compare it to wireguard on linux and the qbittorrent application, the same torrent is way slower. My server gets 2Mbit/s and my computer 15Mbit/s The 15Mbit/s is where my internet connection caps, while downloading that fast I...

My experience as a noob to managing a server Trying to set up a self hosted Lemmy Instance (lemmy.captainapathetic.cfd)

After I saw the news of Beehaw defederating from Lemmy.world I decided the best route to go would be to try and set up a self hosted instance to have the most control of my account as possible. I use Linux on the desktop but have no experience running a server. So far I've managed to get an instance that is able to get posts...

Bootstrap Themes with Ansible Install

I just used the tool linked here in the documentation to create a Bootstrap theme, but I can't find the folder they're referencing. I've used Ansible to install Lemmy, which is working fine, but I'm not really sure how to handle themes as a result. Do I place them somewhere in my Ansible stuff, or is there that directory...

Is there a good guide on how to access services from outside my network?

I have Plex, Radarr, Sonarr, Overseerr etc running in Docker containers, but have never found a good guide on how to access these (safely) from outside. I resort to connecting to a server running VNC. I've tried nginx but didn't understand it, also tried Cloudflare (ditto). Is there a good, easy to understand guide on how to do...
