balance_sheet,

This is the way. User agent spoofer comes handy whenever you browse with FF

I live in South Korea where Samsung is and this is still very much a thing here as well. Galaxy phone’s are more and more becoming an old people phone.

I'm convinced Google uses its reCAPTCHA to promote Chrome

I use Firefox and Firefox Mobile on the desktop and Android respectively, Chromium with Bromite patches on Android, and infrequently Brave on the desktop to get to sites that only work properly with Chromium (more and more often - another whole separate can of worms too, this…) And I always pay attention to disable google.com...

balance_sheet,

Looks like a great solution but does it still work? Seems to be unmaintained.

balance_sheet,

Or don’t by cheap useless chinese manufactured garbage whenever you can.

balance_sheet,

Aside from the whole drama, I remember them having quite a nice relationship before… wonder what changed

balance_sheet,

Conceptually Bright (on their website)

What?

I unironically love return 👎

balance_sheet,

Why do you choose to engage with crazy people on the internet?

balance_sheet, (edited )

That’s a real bummer although fully understandable. I will always support lemmy.world.

I don’t get how people are this mad when you can literally always selfhost and have the experience you want to have. It’s not like they’re trying to censor everything like beehaw did. It’s protecting the instance from any legal consequences that is very real.

balance_sheet,

Selfhost because realistically any normal person with a passion of running an instance would(and, frankly, should) also be concerned with legal liabilities that comes with it.

balance_sheet,

If the mold is visible, that means that there are spores everywhere already. It’s fine though, for most of the times, for the hard cheeses like the others said. But it’s something that you should know.

balance_sheet,

We do. But it’s also something that you should know is what I’m saying.

What foods would be best to give to someone living on the streets in a very hot/humid country?

I often go to some cities in Asia and sometimes will see someone who lives on the street. Many times they are sleeping during the day since it’s so hot and sometimes they look malnourished too. What would be the best foods I could provide them (assuming some restaurants or convenience stores are nearby) which would not spoil?

balance_sheet,

Don’t, find local homeless charities and give them food or money.

If you can, give them money, not food.

Literally any file can be a virus. It’s not a matter of file extension.

How professional is a @firstname.tld email domain?

I am trying to get my own custom domain. However for my name with all the major tlds such as .com .net .io and such, @firstnamelastname.tld and @lastname.tld are taken. I don’t want to have a less trusted tld such as .xyz and would rather stick with the popular ones. Only my first name without the .com tld is not taken, so...

balance_sheet,

Quite a lot of websites don’t like the idea of illegitimate email providers, which led to distributed inboxes which, frankly, can be solved with simple solutions but wasn’t really that ideal.

balance_sheet,

I think what you’re looking for is a firewall. Learn about ufw here.

Or, to simply answer your question,

sudo ufw allow from 10.10.100.0/24
sudo ufw enable

Or just use internal ip addr for service.

It came as such a shocking event because this really almost never happens.

I personally have never seen anyone getting arrested. Never seen anyone got hurt because of criminal activity. Never heard anyone close to me involved in any violent crime. I just couldn’t imagine getting attacked by anyone let alone by some random person.

Korean society is very trusting, if not way too much.

Edit) I am Korean.

balance_sheet,

Wow I am so much worried about a company that is funded by Microsoft going bankrupt!

They don’t “go bankrupt”. Even if it happens, it’s more let than going.
