The problem with VTOLs is that they're just helicopters. It is just reinventing the wheel, but usually much dumber that what already exists.

Helicopters are too noisy and are offline a lot for maintenance. I'm yet to be convinced that any of the electric propulsion concepts will overcome their other issues for a long time.

I’d let a few billionaires try it first. They seem to be all about untested vehicles lately.
