Looking for current antivirus recommendations in the US please. I haven’t kept up and sites I use to rely on for info have deteriorated. Wish I had time to learn Linux. I use Malwarebytes; is the Windows Defender really enough? Want to get away from bloatware like Norton (crypto miner) & avoid spyware (Kaspersky, Avast). TYSM for any input

@deewani Wow - no replies yet! So much established superstition about the need for AV software. In 20+ years of Windows, I saw no problems blocked by the greedy antivirus tools. But over a dozen false alarm reports that broke apps and wasted lots of debugging time. If you think just a bit before clicking on some unknown and possibly shady link (especially in a spam eMail), you can stay safe without AV software. And yes, there are fewer attacks on Linux, another reason for switching.

@LorenAmelang Ok I am relatively savvy but even legit websites can have executables so I guess I like the extra layer of protection. But I really appreciate your input. Thanks for the reply. Maybe MBAM is enough…
