@afg i am a #compost defeatist in the #Winter - I give up hope and turn again in the #Spring. I have 30 bags of #leaves stored up g do or all the Spring/Summer greens.
@mammut I have an Aerobin, decent insulation, it keeps going deep into winter despite a lack of hot greens. If I had a few bags of lawn clippings it would be 25C in it all year long.
I'd like to get a second one but hard to find here now.
@johnefrancis how cold does it get where you live? A typical year I will see temps in the teens (F) for a month and above 20 F for the rest of the Winter. This year -20F
@mammut in Ottawa, ON, Canada, it gets down to -25C or -30C in a typical year. Below 0C for 4 months/year.
I find my bin also dries out without some extra moisture. If it starts freezing I can give it a drink of 4L of hot water and that can get it going again. I might have to do that after this cold snap.
