So I wanted to give Fallout 2 a go on my media center PC. I was messing around with Wine and 32-bit vs 64-bit weirdness until I discovered Fallout 2 Community Edition which simply works on Linux flawlessly. It even supports Wayland if you specify SDL_VIDEO_DRIVER=wayland. I'm amazed at how many of these community driven source ports and reimplementations exist. I should make a website about these. :drgn_flat_happy:
Started playing #Fallout2 again, it's been a while.
The early Fallouts are wonderful in that they give you a lot of options playing pacifist, but I watered it down to "totally unfit for combat".

I'll try to limit save/load, so I'll have to be very careful with combat encounters, since when a companion dies I prohibited myself from reloading.
Failing a steal check makes the entire area hostile; still thinking about how to deal with that...

No pude continuar el #Fallout2 porque sentía la necesidad de empezar desde el comienzo. Ahora sí ki mente está tranquila.
El #Metro2033 lo compré porque me regalaron los normales, pero están terriblemente optimizados y dicen que los Redux funcionan mejor, haré la prueba en mi tostadora.
En fin, de aquí sigue el Baldur's Gate y, quizá, otro jueguito. Amo los juegos isométricos y con gráficos viejos 🤓
Mon #Fallout2 en revanche est d'origine, je crois qu'il fut acheté au Carrefour de Langueux (depuis immortalisé dans l'Arabe du Futur même si de façon assez anecdotique j'en conviens). Je crois aussi que je viens d'en déchirer un des coins pour vous montrer l'intérieur de la boîte je suis deg. Je me revois lire la notice chez ma mamie (pas la même que celle de Creatures) en attendant de rentrer à la maison, et y être fasciné par un screenshot qui ne figure malheureusement pas dans le jeu. #retro
