I had this Android mini figurine custom made for my dad somewhere around 12 - 13 years ago. I had it made since he was a Marine and I wanted to give home something unique. It was made by someone on Japan and then shipped over to me.
It was one of my dad's favorite gifts that I had given him and he still had it when he passed away in July 2021. It's been at my cousins house this entire time as that's where dad was living when he passed away. (cont...)
I am beyond words to finally have this as it's just one of the little things that I've wanted to remember my dad by. He displayed it proudly at all times, regardless of where he was and now, it'll be stored safely and securely!
I love you Pops, and I miss you more than words can ever say!
BY THE WAY MY LOVELIES
didn't start yesterday because am still battling the #fuckCancer post-radiation fatigue blues, but it's June and y'all know what that means...
🗣️ 📣 IT'S COUNTDOWN TO MY BIRTHDAY ON JUNE 10TH!!!!
UPDATE!
so my first ask for my #birthday is 5 of your favorite birthday party tracks. and yes, i will be putting all together into a playlist. go as hard and as mellow as y'all want. am here for all of it.
BTW y'all still owe me some tracks for my birthday playlist. y'all know what's going to be featured heavily in that list?
Whether you're a brother or whether you're a mother
You're stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Feel the city breakin' and everybody shakin'
And we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive
am gonna make it a whole birthMONTH. so even though next monday is my birthday, i am not going to shut the fuck up about it til after June 30th. the last year has been brutal battling cancer and am going to get extra extra celebrating my time on this here Earth.
so yeah,
🗣️ 📣 JUNE IS MY BIRTH MONTH, SO I WANT ALL THE HAPPY WISHES BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER MY BIRTHDAY
In the meantime, great news! I had an exam yesterday afternoon at Kaiser and - two months after my latest butt surgery and two years after that summer of chemo and radiation - there was no sign of recurring anal cancer and my butt is almost completely healed. My surgeon was happy and I'm all smiles! No more surgeries!!!
Now we resume routine cancer monitoring: regular 4 month checkups for the next few years, and hopefully full victory after that.
i was told i was gonna hit a wall of fatigue sometime after the 2nd or 3rd week after finishing treatment. am glad to be alive and on my way to recovery but this sucks ass.
we need #UBI as part of health care. nobody should have to be precariously unemployed during a situation like this.
anybody having to go to a job during or after #cancer treatment is lying to do that they can handle it.
this is not bullshit. to be forced to work thru a #health crisis is eugenics.
This morning, I took my friend (I’ll call her Mozart, since she’s a musician) to the clinic and pharmacy. Her mobility is super challenging these days and she has almost zero strength. It took 3 of us to help her navigate the stairs. She remains chatty and positive and I focused on being supportive and practical. I’ll help her request a handicapped placard later today so we don’t have to park illegally again. Also, f*%# … I am so worried for her.
