Normally, this is where I go with a Sonic game. Not today.
Let's travel back to the early 90s when I had borrowed a copy of Bart vs the Space Mutants from a friend. That is the #TheSimpsons NES / Master System game where Bart is battling aliens that have invaded Springfield. It's...dumb, but I can't forget some of these tunes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLjxJ48UBgY
As a kid I played 'The Legend of Zelda: A Link to The Past' on Super Nintendo very often. The music reminds me of these very happy times. I mostly played it with my nephew who is only three years younger than me. He always did the big bosses and most of the other difficult enemies and I did most of the difficult quests.
The video games of my youth didn’t have music, beyond the odd beep, so the first soundtrack that made me stop and listen was The Secret of Monkey Island which I played on a friend’s Amiga.
Seeing this week's theme for theme for #VGMWednesday is #GamingLikeAKid... I know the song from my childhood that made me a lifelong fan of composer Michiko Naruke!
