Dr. Caitlin Bernard is going before the medical licensing board tomorrow thanks to Todd Rokita (#Indiana AG, human 8chan rant). It's part of his baseless, publicity seeking prosecution of the lawful #abortion she gave a ten year old rape victim.
As a reminder, abortion remains legal in Indiana thanks to two separate injunctions brought by the ACLU of Indiana.
As more and more states explicitly target #Pride celebrations with unconstitutional bans that also endanger the sponsorships that power most Pride orgs ... I want us to prove that #PrideIsAProtest isn't just empty rhetoric nowadays.
We must reinvigorate the spirit of #queer people in the 70s and 80s who faced similar repression and marched anyway.
Here in #Indy - the first #Pride marchers were mostly gay men who had to march with bags over their heads because of the risk of being fired, harassed or assaulted because of who they were.
They were scared too. They faced violence too. They marched anyway. They did not survive that era just to watch us shrink into oblivion because the GOP thinks it needs a wedge issue.
I use the FediBuzz Relay to push some hashtag-specific content to my instance. When you set that up, FediBuzz creates a “user” that boosts anything with that hashtag. For example, one of the hashtags I want it to help look for is #HoosierMast. It created @tag@relay.fedi.buzz. So, maybe that is a work-around? However, I have no idea how to then take that Mastodon username and add it to your follows on Lemmy!
A group of #FortWayne#Indiana#LGBTQ teens and their allies are self-funding and producing their high school play after it was cancelled by their school administration among parental complaints.
The play starts tomorrow.
So far, they have raised over $80,000 for their $50,000 dollar goal and all their profits are going into a fund to support other teens who have their plays cancelled for similar reasons.

I'm back in the office after a really, really nice weekend. Planning out my field outreach for the summer and catching up with my boss who was on vacay last week.
Pretty uneventful but honestly after the year that we've had - uneventful is good.
