What an insipid programme Insiders has become since Barry left.

Nuclear Power and Immigration policy....again. When are we going to stop talking about irrelevancy and get to addressing the things that matter. Stop picking up Dutton's talking points every week.

The Greens do need a coherent immigration policy but “Speersy” went from “What is your immigration policy?” To “Do you think there’s too much immigration?” which is not the same thing.

Speers is embarrassing

Why are we still even having this conversation? When did the Liberal Party turn into an organisation of "alternative facts"?

And before I get a pile on from everyone, that's really not what the Liberal Party used to be. We may have disagreed with their position, but they were never like the Republicans or even One Nation or Clive Palmer who actually have sought out fringe views as "facts".

Oh for goodness sake the homes mostly being built are unaffordable for all the people that need housing. The only way we can address the housing crisis is to overrule all council impediments to building and living in tiny homes. What the feds need to do is legislate against NIMBYism

I mean the hypocrisy is breathtaking.

The very fact that this is likely to be a mental health motivated attack should make us look seriously at better support for mental health services.

Not saying yesterday would have been prevented, but the 2020 Productivity Commission report found that Australia's mental health services were not comprehensive enough. https://www.aihw.gov.au/mental-health/overview/australias-mental-health-services

Watching the elections going on the one thing I find interesting is how the Labor people all look like deer in headlights.

They don't know what to say and they don't know what to do.

Richard Marles sounded and looked like an idiot on yesterday. You could almost see it dawning on him that it sounds like the UK and US have taken him for a ride and everyone could see it but him. He really is a sucker. What pretty lights and baubles did those 2 countries and their war/weapon people flash for him?

There's not enough aged care workers as it is. Keeping people in the home is actually going to put more stress on workers. And it will continue to reduce efficiency of the housing market with elderly people staying in homes far too large for them.

James Paterson, Shadow Home Affairs Minister (SHAM), speaks with forked tongue - he knows full-well that the pushed for more data surveillance of Australian citizens as most western countries do. Manipulation of truth.
If were to be sold to a western country, it could quite likely fall into the hands of right wing media organisation. What is worse? At least we know what TikTok does and is now. Better to educate users by a variety of means.

Let's be clear that all of the functional criticisms of Tiktok also apply to Instagram, for example.

All of the 'data harvesting' criticisms of Tiktok also apply to every other commercial social media platform

I honestly have no idea why anyone is whinging, other than to score cheap political points - surely "journalists" are professional enough to call that shit out, rather than repeating it - about emissions caps on vehicles. These caps are fairly average, and don't cover light commercial vehicles in the same way.

It's literally the bare minimum the planet wrecking vehicles can do

On Insiders PK claimed that if Meta didn’t fund News Corp reporters then misinformation would run riot.

I think not funding News Corp would significantly reduce misinformation, lies, and Biased Liberal party reporting.

That’s why I cancelled my Australian subscription 20 years ago, I also never watch SkyNews or any commercial television channel. I also have an iron clad rule to never cross a paywall.

Well of course we need more University educated workers in Australia. What's extraordinary is how many parents spend absurd fees on private secondary education when they should be saving all that money for tertiary education.

Here we go again, a race to the bottom on boats and immigration

How long will these asylum seekers be stuck on Nauru?

Does anyone really believe people should be stuck in indefinite detention after doing their time in prison?

It's embarrassing

msdropbear42,

@HardBeingGreen One of the most egregious bits of this interminable canine-whistling bullshit that Speers pursued this morn, again, was the CRAP about "does the govt know the exact location of all these released murderers?". FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARK!

Look, Speers & all other creeps who keep doing this venal dogwhistle... lemme ask you the counter-question to illustrate how moronic & deceitful your strategy is...

Do you know the exact location of all Strayans who were convicted & served time for murder, then were lawfully released?

Well, do you? Fscken idiots!
