I checked out where to order Precure figures online and some of the prices are really out of proportion.
The best offer for 2nd hand Cure Wing is over 2000 Yen and it was like 700 Yen when new and release was just a few months ago 😫
After a somewhat exhausting day in Akihabara, I don’t have bags full of stuff but a careful selection of favorites.
Fūko and Andy from #UndeadUnluck (FuRyu prize figures)
All 4 Cures from Go! Princess #PreCure (I was really lucky to find the whole team!)
Komugi Keychain (proof that I found the Pretty Store at Tokyo Station which is hard enough 😅)
A very cute Cure Custard rubber keyholder
A #Promare Lio/Galo switch #Doujinshi by artist Kamiyan that I missed when it came out
Pretty Cure celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, and this song featured prominently in the anniversary PV. It was also the theme of "Precure All Stars Movie F" and "Kibou no Chikara: Otona Precure", which both aired Fall 2023. The song itself is bright, uplifting, and an anthem of self-love and optimism.
Special thanks to @pikestaff for introducing me to the true depths of Precure brainrot and hooking me, even belatedly, to this wonderful franchise. I wish I could broadcast more of your rants from over on cohost[.]org/pikestaff. May you have a wonderful time celebrating 20 years of NagiHono!

Ueshama and Rieri talk about dressing up in school uniforms and taking part in スクール革命 (School Kakumei, School Revolution) https://www.ntv.co.jp/s-kakumei/
Rieri is excited about wearing a uniform, and Ueshama is a bit embarrassed.
They also talk about this school uniform shop in Harajuku (https://www.conomi.jp/). It sells 'fashion uniforms', but is actually the supplier of real school uniforms. It's where real Japanese schools go to modernize their uniforms every few years.

Also, in the closing, Ueshama does a Onsen Premium recruitment scene where she asks you, onii-chan, to play Precure Shigohaji with her. :neocat_floof_cute:
I'm finding some interesting interviews with Washio Takahashi, the creator of #Precure , in the Japanese press.
"When I thought of the project, I thought, “Small children are the same whether they are boys or girls.” Parents teach children to act like girls and boys, and they gradually become differentiated. When I was little, I used to play with the girl who lived next door. The two of us also pretended to be adults. That’s why I was confident that girls would also love transformations…."
" I never included any talk about the differences between men and women. I also ask them to stop saying things like “”Because I’m a girl” or ““Because I’m a boy.” I was making it with the feeling that it doesn’t matter. There are no scenes where parents say, “That child is good at this.” Children hate being compared the most. This was the first anime for me that took so much care….
"I think we have a consistent stance of not “fighting to defeat the enemy,” but “standing up to protect our daily lives, where we belong.”…
I didn’t want to determine the hierarchy of abilities or the correctness of values based on “wins and losses.” This was in mind from the initial concept stage. Settlement based on one yardstick means looking at things in a ““one-dimensional” manner. Conversely, it leads to the denial of diversity."
Komugi's transformation sequence is so punny, because she's also the dog in the above post. It involves a countdown of 'Three' 'Two' 'One (Wan)', and she becomes Cure Wonderful (Wan-derful, get it?). :neocat_laugh_tears:
