It’s illegal to have a #CincoDeMayo playlist without music by la Reina Selena Quintanilla-Pérez and keeping with the family theme many members of her backing band were members of her family. Here she with two of her popular hits “Amor Prohibido” y “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom” (https://youtu.be/yw2UPqSJUeU?si=LBBTb3kw4itJXA-S) #RetroView#Selena
Lately I've been listening to music in different languages (especially japanese, korean and chinese) and I love it, it's helped me become familiar with their sounds and appreciate their beauty.
But this weekend, at a birthday party, I realized I miss listening to music in my mother tongue. So, I had this idea: making a thread with songs I like, no matter the genre or the year. Just music I like that I inevitably end up singing out loud.

Heads up: I’m bringing a music listening project that I’ve been working on over to mastodon now. I’ve been calling it “Radio to the Death”.
Basically I wanted to listen to Rolling Stone’s top 500 albums of all time. But also, I’m me, so everything has to be a game of some kind. As such, I took all the albums and made a tournament bracket seeded by order in the original list. I listen to each pair of albums (in one sitting, ideally) and declare a winner. #RadioToTheDeath
