Happy bantams in the new run. Children thrilled to get some cuddles at last!
The round, speckled millefleur pekin is Gloria. She’s laid-back and chill. The pure brown hen is Ness, a buff pekin, very shy with a sweet disposition. The black pekin is Liam, also a hen but named by my son. Bold and friendly. The two together are Lily, a lavender pekin, and Tilly, a partridge silkie. Lily is shy and quiet, Tilly is a bossy boots and constantly demands food!
Rhododendron comes from the ancient Greek ῥόδον rhódon "rose" and δένδρον déndron "tree". Larger rhododendrons like these are pruned to encourage a tree-like form. I find rhododendron trees with wavy trunks like these aesthetically pleasing. The small copse of straight bamboo on the left lends contrast.

(the iphone is actually great for street photography because it is so readily in our hands and it is so quick to take a picture…sometimes moments can’t wait for a camera. i just wish it is a little less harsh?)
apparently the best pad kra pow in bangkok, cooked by only one uncle. (this is one of those times i took photos with both the camera and the phone, and it was the phone that captured the moment.)
