I just saw a shocking documentary about woman named Aurora Mardiganian, who was raped & sold as a slave during the Turkish genocidial program in the early 1900's killing an estimated 2M Armenians, who escaped & was featured in a silent film called "Aurora Sunrise"which was used to raise funds in support of Armenian relief but who herself was used and abused in this effort.
This is one of the most shocking quotes from the documentary regarding the 'crucification of 16 girls that she witnessed:
