The wife and I decided to go ahead and mow all 4 yards today since our next door neighbor was going down to mow his sisters yard(3 houses down). That way we get everything mowed, can do the weed eating and everything else before we go on vacation next week.

It was a bit hot, but not too terribly bad. Though it's only going to get much hotter over the coming months.

Good morning and happy Sunday

It's the last day of the weekend, so let's all talk about what we have on the agenda for the day today.

I'll be mowing at least 3 out of the 4 lawns we normally mow, and very possibly all 4 of them depending on my one neighbor.

After that, it'll just be resting and relaxing as it's also going to be about 82F here today.

As promised. Moss!
I even grow my own moss in my little stream. No excuse for the lack of Look at it grow! There was none 2 years ago when we built the ponds and stream and now I am harvesting little bits of it from this spot to spread around the rest of the stream.

Hmm, no or gardening for me. Heat index of 102.8F. I should have put the shade cloth back up, guess I'll do that quickly before my tomatoes die.

Went outside to mow the yards earlier, and found this little guy by the front porch.

I think it's some kind of grass or garter snake maybe, but not 100% sure.

The problem with puttering around the yard taking care of small jobs is that you keep seeing new small jobs!

With these in your yard, are you providing a nectar source for pollinators, or is peer pressure making you poison everything?

So my gas lawnmower died and I took the plunge on a 40V Kobalt battery powered mower. While I can tell there's s little less torque it gets the job done just as well.

Then my chainsaw bit the dust and I bought a 40V Kobalt battery powered chainsaw. I was SUPER SKEPTICAL. A battery powered chainsaw? You've got to be kidding.

It's hands down the best chainsaw I've used. No fumes, pretty quiet, and the battery lasts a long time.
