46 years ago today, the #GratefulDead played a fine one in Boston. It moves higher up my list of favorites every time I put it on. The first set is loaded with jams and the St. Stephen might be the longest they ever played. This show feels longer (in a good way) than some three-set shows from 1973.
Here's #AlbumArt for "Road Trips, Vol. 4, No. 5: Boston Music Hall 6-09-1976 {2400x2400]. Does Mastodon still reduce large images? Let's find out!
I love when bands have art that shows what's happening in a song. Album art is a lost art.
Luckily, there's still bands like MOAR that do it.
In this case, the art below is for their KILLER new song "Salt Suffered Speed", the second track on their amazing new album 'Baby I Am Cheap'. I've raved about it here before.
51 years ago today, the #GratefulDead played their most overrated Dark Star ever. Not the longest, hardly their best. (See? Deadheads can be discriminating.)
51 years ago today, the #GratefulDead played a damned good one in the Netherlands. I dunno how to rate these Europe '72 Truckin' > Other Ones any more, but I paid $100 for an OOP copy of the CD set and have zero regrets.
53-years ago today, the #GratefulDead played a head-liquefier at Harpur College. Too many highlights to mention, but if you turn it up right before "Don't Ease Me In," you'll hear Bear admit he slipped six drops in Phil's drink.
