Bette Davis with Hattie McDaniel. Davis was the only white member of McDaniel’s troupe of performers to perform for black servicemen during WWII. McDaniel was the chair of the Negro Division of the Hollywood Victory Committee. She formed the troupe.
really trying to escape into 'dark victory', a 1939 bette davis melodrama...but the slimy, grotesque presence of ronald reagan is ruining it for me. even bogart can't salvage it. #cinema#film#betteDavis#HumphreyBogart

▶️ When I saw tonight's challenge, I knew within seconds I'd be posting about #Backstabber "Eve Harrington" (#AnneBaxter) in "All About Eve."
"The Kid" — a young, beautiful ingénue executes a plan to become a #star of the "thee-uh-tuh!" at the expense of "maturing" #Broadway biggie, "Margo Channing" (#BetteDavis).
The film has my favorite line in a movie: "Hollywood? Must you go—so few come back!"
