Just about #Nuggets time. Still no Jamal Murray, but the #Clippers won’t have Kawhi Leonard, either. #NBA @nba #basketball

Fun matchup between Joker and Wemby. Joker said, “He blocked six or seven of my shots.”

But Wemby didn’t block enough. Joker finished with 42 points, 16 rebounds and six assists, and he got a lot of help from Aaron Gordon (23 points, seven boards) and Michael Porter Jr. (15 points, career-high 16 rebounds).

Wemby, meanwhile, filled up the stat sheet with 23 points, 15 rebounds, eight assists and nine blocks.

Final score: #Nuggets 110, #Spurs 105. Next up: At the #Clippers Thursday. #NBA @nba

So, you know you have a good day when both teams you support end up winning their respective games. That's what happened a few minutes ago when my #lakers won by 3 against the #Clippers and my #Rams beat the #Niners. It's a great way to end a day.

The value of four days off for the #Nuggets — eight-of-10 from three in the first quarter. Nuggets 36, #Clippers 21, end of first quarter. #NBA @nba

The just stole a game from the without their three best players. How did they do it?

— No Murray? Reggie Jackson dominates the lane with 35 points and 13 assists.

— No Joker? DeAndre Jordan finishes with 21 points, 13 rebounds and seven dunks (the most for any Nugget center since at least 1996).

— No Gordon? Michael Porter, Jr. grabs 10 boards, and Strawther, Watson and Nnaji combine for 27 points, 13 rebounds and aggressive defense.

Great effort, great win. @nba

DeAndre Jordan can’t shoot free throws, but he can sure make the basket shake on a dunk. 13, 13, first quarter. @nba

Two thoughts about the game. First, the are going to be fine. Second, championship teams win on defense, and won this game by locking down defensively in the last five minutes. Joker, BTW — 32 points, 16 rebounds, nine assists. @nba

Some quick infrastructure reboot downtime thoughts on the four California teams after they paired up for a couple of really enjoyable early season games last night, starting with the winners:

The are in the same place they were at the end of last year: very good, but unless AD suddenly starts playing consistently on the offensive end, one significant player away from the top tier teams. They missed a bunch of their role players last night, but they won't move the playoff needle.🧵

The are a true Frankenteam. A couple stars I like who can't stay healthy, a couple knuckleheads who do, no offensive concept or identity at all, just a lot of talent and no real team. It's pretty weird to have that many good players and still kinda fundamentally suck at basketball but here we are. The Harden thing is very likely to help their regular season win total a lot and could be a HUGE fantasy (🤮) season for him - the man is a regular-season king for sure. But c'mon man...

James Harden just decided to opt-in to his $35M contract extension to help facilitate a trade to some crazy team or another that will have him. The #Clippers and #Knicks are allegedly interested. Per #NBARadio

[Stein via Hoopshype] Marcus Morris and Norman Powell on the block (hoopshype.com)

The Clippers have been trying to find a trade exit for both Marcus Morris Sr. and Norm Powell, league sources say. They found neither before Wednesday at midnight and thus felt forced to waive Eric Gordon, because shedding Gordon’s $21 million salary for next season saved $110 million in luxury tax. You read right: $110...
