In my #foobar2000 radio playlist, I have streams served by a basic #Icecast setup, and some served by a "fancy", distributed #internetRadio service which claims to connect listeners to their nearest edge location for better latency. Which ones do you think have faster playback starts? Hint: it's not the latter, even when the basic Icecast servers are thousands of miles away.
