A few cases of PrD after #COVID19 with various neurological complications have been recognized in people after contracting #COVID19. While anosmia is considered a regular consequence of COVID, it is typically underrecognized as cranial nerve I dysfunction, a common neurological complication.
Other serious #postCOVID19 complications include #encephalopathy#meningitis, #encephalitis#peripheralneuropathies & increased risk of cerebrovascular insults & cranial neuropathies, which suggest a neuroinflammatory component of the viral illness . This case report is unique by highlighting the potential contribution of #COVID19 to PrD.
"The Finnish institute for health and welfare (THL) on Tuesday said another 100,000 people would be eligible to receive a free vaccine to protect against pneumococcal diseases.
In the future, the vaccine will be free to some individuals with asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, as well as those with severely compromised immunity.
Finland already gives the jab to children under the age of five, recipients of stem cell transplants and people under 75 who have severe kidney disease.
The vaccine prevents serious illnesses caused by pneumococcal bacteria, including meningitis, septicemia and pneumonia."
