Just how big is the NFL in America? 18.6 million viewers watched Monday Night Football across ABC, ESPN, and ESPN2. Compare this to Major League Baseball, whose ALCS coverage averaged 5.2 million viewers across Fox, Fox Deportes, and FS1.
It's also worth noting that Monday Night Football viewership was up 57% from last season's game window.
I’m running out of #sports to watch. It’s the #NFL off-season, college basketball is over, the Milwaukee Bucks got knocked out of the #NBA playoffs, and there are only 5 games left in the #Bundesliga.
I’m considering picking up a subscription to #MLS on #AppleTVPlus or starting to watch #MLB Friday Night #Baseball, just to get my weekly fix.
So in my quest to actually be able to watch the #Cubs#MLB games via streaming, I see that Marquee Sports now offers a streaming subscription!
I click over to their site to check it out… $20/month?!?!? For one channel that doesn’t have anything of value other than the baseball games?
By comparison, MLB.tv is $20/mo (when paid yearly) for access to ALL games and ALL radio broadcasts except of course for the teams that are regionally blacked out. Good grief.
One of the reasons the Rays draw poorly is that it sucks to drive to their stadium. Fans there marvel at cities like Chicago and Philadelphia…where mass transit can and does deliver fans to the ballpark without driving & parking.
Transit makes the fan experience better. If you’re a sports fan, you should be a transit fan.
If #MLB must have playoffs with a bazillion teams playing, it should do what the #NPB (#Japan 's major league #baseball) does.
"the teams that finish the regular season with the second- and third-best records play one another in a best-of-three series. The winners . . . advance . . . to face each league's regular-season champion in a six-game series, which the regular-season champion starts with a one-game advantage."
Big sports night here. #MLB, the #Nuggets try to move one step closer to clinching the top seed in the West, and our man Jackson Wolf is pitching for AAA El Paso in Sacramento.
Where will I find time to mock all the City Connect unis?
(Thankfully, the #Padres are on the road, so the sherbet unis are off the docket this week.)
My take on the gambling geniuses that SportsNet is highlighting before games is this: 1. They have tattoos down to the wrist.
2. They're short.
3. Maybe facial hair but desperately trying to look like manly men.
4. They drive those giant pickups that tailgate us all on the highways...OK, I made that one up.
5. They've been diagnosed with SDC. (First word small...last word complex.)

This is awful. The reigning National League MVP is done for the year.
