Just a guess but I think this is where the term 'legging it out' originated. No towpath, just workers 'legging' the narrow boat through the tunnel.

Is the PWHL dead in the States? Toronto at Minnesota and all the seats below the level of the camera are empty. Across the ice, looks pretty full. So did the arena move everyone to one side to give a Trump impression of the crowd? Cheap, really cheap. I expected more of a hockey state like Minnesota.

@chetwisniewski I wonder if it's economics? Were these arenas ever full? It must be disheartening to play in front of a mostly empty house. But they played well. Too well if you ask me! (Kidding. They all win just by being able to play the game they love.)

Wouldn't boycotts work better than protests? Boycott the unis that terrorized the protesters. Boycott business/stores with direct links to Israel. Protests don't work, never have. On the other hand, money has a very loud voice. If America spoke with the wallet, change would happen very quickly. Organization is a lot easier now than it was back in the '60s. Organize, disseminate info and wait. And vote, always vote.

@vlrny 3 is damn early. Around 4 is common here in Toronto, my area anyway. At 3, I'd suspect unlucky in love.

    My take on the gambling geniuses that SportsNet is highlighting before games is this: 1. They have tattoos down to the wrist.
    2. They're short.
    3. Maybe facial hair but desperately trying to look like manly men.
    4. They drive those giant pickups that tailgate us all on the highways...OK, I made that one up.
    5. They've been diagnosed with SDC. (First word small...last word complex.)

    Thank the lord for Tish James. If you look at the research she did into this bond it made my head spin and I'm a math teacher. She understands all of these fancy finance games, and I guess you'd need to do her job in NYC. We have the worst/best "banking wizards" sometimes they break the laws of physics, sometimes they just break laws.

    This bond is a stinker. I wonder what Trump promised the guy to let his company implode as sacrifice to avoid the full fee?

    Hey, here's something fishy. I'd like to get more fish into my diet. Tilapia is out so what else is out there? How do I cook it? Cod had worms so I def want something with those. I love salmon but I want to try other types. Tips would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

    $20 gets a pallet of old movies. One is a lost Clara Bow two reeler. No mention of what film stock this was, almost had to be nitrate but no one was injured in this amazing archive discovery. Kind of makes you think, "What else is out there?"

    @flockofnazguls @EvangelosSciFi I forget a lot about Dark Star except for one scene that was hilarious. OK, can't remember what it was about, something exploded, but damn it was funny. Someone mentioned Red Dwarf but it had a laugh track, the kiss of death for me. (Same for Father Brown, but that's just me.)

    'Maigret' is on Kanopy, two free episodes. I watched the first last evening. Rowan Atkinson doesn't have many lines so he has to use his face for acting purposes. Pretty good, all in all. My dad loved Simenon's books. Now I'll hunt for a couple and try them out.

    It will always blow my mind that Fundies use the Bible to explain why women should be submissive uneducated stay at home baby machines, while the Bible's own description of the "Perfect" woman is a Land owning female boss who is praised by her husband and her city for her contributions.

    @RickiTarr It baffles me why those folks need someone to interpret the bible, unless they can't read. The Catholic church kept everything in Latin just so they could hide what was really in the good book, as some people call it. By interpret, of course I mean misinterpret, changing the meaning to what they think it should mean.
