The true St John's Wort is a longtime . As with all , that originate from the wilds, please learn more about each plant & how to properly use it, first. If harvesting in the wild - be responsible with picking.

Rogue River Trail Backpacking

I have very mixed feelings about this adventure. While I had a good weekend, it was decidedly Type II fun. Plusses include wildflowers and beautiful views. Minuses include monotonous ups and downs, dangerous landslide traverses, and poison oak absolutely everywhere. I’m not sure yet if I’m breaking out or not. I found myself wishing I was rafting the river instead.

The Rogue River Trail traverses a steep mountain-side meadow with yellow and purple wildflowers. Green trees in the distance.
Stair Case Falls flows through a rocky canyon just before spilling into the Rogue River. the rocky canyon walls have green trees and bushes growing out of the rock in places.
A solo rafter holds the rope to their blue raft as they attempt to anchor their raft to shore. The raft is completely full of camping gear and supplies. A paddler cruises by in an inflatable red kayak. Rocks stick out of the Rogue River in various locations.

I don’t know where these come from but they pop up everywhere and never in the same place 😄

I rarely see this wild bloom on top of the digitalis though.
