When I heard that it was a "re-imagining" of the Scott Pilgrim story, I wasn't sure what to think. But first, it is. Second, it makes me want to re-read the comic when I'm done.
I've really enjoyed Scott Pilgrim Takes Off and now I'm pissed that there (likely) won't be another season because it's Netflix. On the other hand, I'm grateful Netflix greenlit it in the first place. #ScottPilgrimTakesOff#Netflix
There was a lot of great music in Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, but one of the highlights for me was Anamanaguchi's stellar chiptune-inspired take on "God Only Knows."
For anyone else who needs to avoid strobing and flashing in their TV viewing:
The new #ScottPilgrim anime series on Netflix starts immediately on play with very high contrast animated flashing ... all prior to the content warning 🤦🏻♀️
For tonight's Quarantine Control on @damagecontrolblog I wrote about Castlevania: Nocturne. I really enjoyed this show. @Dio_Senrab wrote about Turn A Gundam, and CWTyger wrote about Scott Pilgrim Takes Off. We had a good mix of animation to talk about this week, so check us out!
Let me tell you - yea, it's just like the comics. Which I enjoyed (even if Scott is literally one of the worst characters). It is also cool that the original movie cast is coming back to voice the same characters.
