When I heard that it was a "re-imagining" of the Scott Pilgrim story, I wasn't sure what to think. But first, it is. Second, it makes me want to re-read the comic when I'm done.

Uwielbiam to jak postawili historię na głowie i zrobili trochę dekonstrukcję, a już najbardziej, że w pomysłowy sposób uzupełnili części opowieści z perspektywy Ramony. Do tego animacja i muzyka rządzą!
Decided to watch the Scott Pilgrim Netflix adaptation and wasn't entirely sure what to expect - I never read the original comics but did have a fondness for the aesthetics of the live action film and - I WAS NOT PREPARED Y'ALL!
There was a lot of great music in Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, but one of the highlights for me was Anamanaguchi's stellar chiptune-inspired take on "God Only Knows."

but now that I've seen the new animated series Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, I think that is my favorite... which is funny because when they announced the animated series it sounded like a bad idea. Of course I didn't know they had a fresh take in mind.
Okay, I've shed all my doubts re-reading #ScottPilgrim. 🤩
The books are still amazing, although of course this time around I found them a bit less profound. To be fair though, I am more than a decade older now and a comic book is unlikely to teach me new things about love and life. 😅 But I can see why it impressed me the way it did back when I read it first.
I'd forgotten about it, but I had one of it's pages hanging on my wall as some kind of motivational poster for a while. 🙂
I watched the first couple episodes of this, and it's definitely worth a watch if you liked the movie or the books, and yet doesn't exactly follow the plot of either! If anything I'd say it reminds me more of the comics, but it's definitely its own things with some twists!
And like back when I first read them, get some definite feelings from Ramona Flowers. sigh #ScottPilgrim#netflix
Huch, #ScottPilgrim Takes Off ist ja schon released. Ich habe gerade die erste Folge geschaut und bin noch unsicher. Wer eine werkgetreuere Umsetzung erwartet als den Film von 2010 wird jedenfalls enttäuscht. Aber O'Malley, der an der Serie mitgeschrieben und -produziert hat, darf seine Geschichte natürlich weiterentwickeln. Aber ob die Änderungen positiv sind, kann man wohl erst am Ende sagen. Auf jeden Fall wieder super die Musik von Anamanaguchi, die auch schon das Videospiel vertont haben.

Jokes aside, I enjoyed reading it again. But I'm a bit scared of finding out if there really was some deep revelation waiting for me or if I was just much younger and impressed by an obviously mediocre magic trick. 😬
