I think it's still going to be a while until it is relevant for our server(s) in particular, but if the new Meta project wanted to add us to their federation whitelist or just simply would open up its federation, would you as a user accept this to happen, assuming they moderate properly and the instance won't die due to load mid-term? #tchncs :tchncs:
You won: due to public demand, a new #Calckey instance has finally been brought to life. Calckey is a popular fork of Misskey, an advanced fediverse server.
Today the media caching proxy for this Mastodon instance was still trying to reach the remote storage at an ip address that became unreachable at the storage provider.
This is resolved for now and i gonna try to enhance its configuration accordingly. Sorry about that. #tchncs :tchncs:
If you've ever wondered why you only sometimes see the person sharing their screen in #OpenTalk – their cam shows up when you move your cursor onto their tile. You can also lock their cam to the screen by moving the cursor onto their cam: it will show you three buttons. use the right one with the pin symbol.

Another update to the #tchncs#opentalk instance: recordings seem to work now! 📼
Please mind that this is an early version of the OpenTalk recorder and it is possible that some edge cases make it unhappy. However i did some realistic tests and they have worked nicely. :)
The changelog is long, one thing to look out for is the new (currently rebuilding) full-text search – as you might want to opt-in under /settings/privacy.

Whoops sorry about that interruption, there was an additional setting required which i did not expect.
I have adjusted the redis setup for this instance, which – fingers crossed – means that your timeline won't fall back to an old (or empty) state anymore as soon as redis was restarted. The setup is now one persistent and one "cache" redis as recommended by the docs. There must have been a misunderstanding in the past. Sorry about that. #tchncs :tchncs:
