Recently, I often read from people who are happy with swift moderation actions on #tchncs :tchncs: but give only me credit for that. Please know that – luckily – I am not alone!
The #tchncs :tchncs: #Mobilizon instance has been updated to v4.0.0+4.0.1+4.0.2 (sorry, i am now subscribed to the releasefeed and wont miss releases again).
Right now the Threads thing by "Meta" is blocked from this server due to a set of multiple reasons. However i am interested in hearing how you feel about it now, after some time has passed. This poll/discussion might not change the current block. I am also not informed as to whether Threads is using a whitelist anyway. #tchncs :tchncs:
Well, and now Mark Zuckerberg announces a test, where #posts in #Threads will be visible in the #Fediverse. That's interesting.
Here on this #instance, I don't see anything, but when I search on journa.host for @zuck, I'll get a SSL-error. So there is something there, even if it doesn't work yet. Anyone with more details?

@karsbehr Ich würde jetzt mal ketzerisch aus dem Bauch und ohne Faktenkenntnis genau das vermuten: #tchncs befürchtet, dass #meta über #threads die Inhalte von #tchncs abgreift und damit seine Algorithmen füttert. Nur: Genau das war mal der Zweck der Internets: Informationen verfügbar machen, damit sie jeder nutzen kann. Und zum Nutzenkönnen gehört nun mal das Zu-Geld-Machen. Da kommt FOSS nun in die Zwickmühle. @MrGR@alex@milan
Another update to the #tchncs#opentalk instance: recordings seem to work now! 📼
Please mind that this is an early version of the OpenTalk recorder and it is possible that some edge cases make it unhappy. However i did some realistic tests and they have worked nicely. :)
Update to the #tchncs#opentalk server: you can now send email invites from the room settings. (i think the invites will also show up in the dashboard if the address got an opentalk account)
The user suggestion feature however has been disabled for now due to privacy concerns.
So sehr ich #Tchncs auch mag, diese Instanz ist zu groß und überfüllt geworden. Ich fühle mich in überfüllten Räumen nicht wohl. Danke @milan auf Wiedersehen.
Update: i didn't think about it this way before, but i need to acknowledge that the instance should be more country-specific considering potential shipping cost n stuff – the name should reflect that.
whats your opinion on using the things. subdomain for a fleamarket instance? there were other nice suggestions such as bazaar (also nice) or fleabay (this one may result in trouble) #tchncs
just as a note: looks likelaw makes offering such a platform inconvinient and privacy intrusive. the fleamarket instance idea is on ice for now #tchncs
The changelog is long, one thing to look out for is the new (currently rebuilding) full-text search – as you might want to opt-in under /settings/privacy.

#tchncs matrix server is currently informing the network about missed events. it might still take a moment here and there. it was a quite stupid and well hidden typo in one configfile ... because of course it was. milan now sleep.
