Recent examples of people trying to describe #Fediverse or related topics really show how the majority of people got indoctrinated into this mobile-first mentality. It's not a server-side platform, it's an app on your phone. How does it work? Who knows, but it's more complicated than TikTok, so it's bad.
If phones are really so awesome, then why isn't there more effort being put into making them properly replace PCs?
“[...] they proposed that our background performers should be able to be scanned, get one day’s pay, and their companies should own that scan, their image, their likeness and should be able to use it for the rest of eternity on any project they want, with no consent and no compensation.”
Does anyone know of any good references for how #CapEx / #OpEx tracking is typically done at #Tech companies? I'm looking to collect patterns around how to do this with minimal overhead.
So I had two men argue with me on a discord server. I posted a fun little VHS style video like the ones I've posted here. They argued that it was easier to purchase a VHS camcorder and/or route the file through a VCR + transfer it BACK to your computer then upload it.
Obviously using an app is easier, so I shot back. They later reach out to a moderator claiming I was "picking fights." I provided the receipts and the mansplainers both received warnings. They essentially told on themselves.
Now what makes this hilarious but also sad is that these two men were SO SURE that their manner of behavior was correct they attempted to get me reprimanded for daring to defend myself.
#Women online and especially in #tech deal with this shit CON-STANT-LY. It's so normalized by men that when women dare fire back we're out of line and "picking fights." This is the reason #feminism exists and this is the reason women have fucking had it with the bullshit.
