Very exhausting but so are most important #justice fights against #government.
I just hope it will help more #POC & #disabled families in future from suffering unnecessary #traumas from #cops & coward #paramedics scared of telling cops to leave a #medical#crisis call when no cops are needed & only making things worse by letting #abusive cops stay around.
On one hand, he said, it is important to educate people new to the country on the realities of policing in Canada, the 911 system, the courts and a person’s rights.
On the other hand, there is real concern that a newcomer’s bad experience with police or the military in their home country may make them fearful of all police.
It goes beyond newcomers to Canada. My family recently experienced unnecessary #traumas inflicted by #Saanich#police in June & we're in a long battle over #HumanRights violations in our own home by #antimasker cops. Lead cop refused to leave & then entered our home unmasked, is their municipal #PoliceUnion president. He & other cops were told my Dad & family have #intergenerational police traumas before they trespassed into our home.
Dad died from #LongCovid cardiac complications hours after.
