A video of a young man in a wheelchair, doing yo-yo tricks. The video is shot in a really nice looking indoor mall and the video cuts and changes the location frequently, but it does it in a way where the tricks all line up and make sense. Even though the location changes, the moves are consistent. The yo-yo tricks are intricate string tricks with slack elements.

Freegen: a mid-air regeneration with a counterweight 🪀.

Me playing with a yo-yo in my living room. I throw a breakaway throw and then let go of the end of the string. The yo-yo flies in the air and sucks the string and the counterweight back into its body, then kicks the counterweight and string back out again for me to catch.

Yoyofactory are doing their annual A-May-Zing sale all month. Each day are new deals. As far as unresponisve suggestions, I like the Edgeless a lot. If you buy an unresponsive yo-yo, you'll need to know how to bind, which isn't difficult to learn. If you are looking for a classic responsive yo-yo, the Arrow might be a good fit.

Pedro Flores, the Filipino American immigrant who is known as the "Father Of Yo-Yo", was born on this day in 1896. So I made this drawing to celebrate his birthday.

The (also known as the bandolore) had been around for centuries, but Pedro created a new method of attaching the string in the 1920s that allowed the toy to "sleep" when it reached the bottom of the string. Up until his invention, yo-yos only went up and down! In 1932, Pedro sold his company to Don Duncan.

was an extremely talented yo-yoer and artist who passed away in 2021. Though I met him through , I was a huge fan of Paul's illustrations and line work. The dude was a genius with a sharpie.

I'm excited that the folks at Method Made are putting together a show based on Paul's work. The show opens tonight, April 20th, at 4:20 pm at 2544 Mission Street in .

This morning’s combo while waiting for coffee.

In 2016, I tried combining AR technology with yo-yoing. It was... rough. I was using an iPhone 6 at the time and a glitch app that a buddy created. Here's the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fa4bGF8QoY

The hardest trick I know.

Me throwing a yo-yo sideways and getting it to do a trick called the UFO. This trick unwinds the string and I pull the yo-yo up just as it’s completely coming off of the unraveling string, I then catch the yo-yo, which is spinning on its side and unattached from the string, onto my pointer finger. It spins on my finger for a few seconds.

A fresh combo with the PLTPS .

A first person perspective video of me yo-yoing with a PLTPS yo-yo and a large pink counterweight. I do a series of unnamed tricks with a responsive style, so the tricks involve string stalls and regens. The music playing is "Spiderbite" by Flaming Lips.

I added a bunch of new yo-yos, like the PLTPS, The Desert Island Yo, and the Doc Pop edition Stoopid.

A photo of three different Desert Island Yos in different colors. Each one has a plastic body with a small aluminum hub and a nice fingerspin catch zone. The three different colors are blue plastic with green aluminum, green plastic with raw aluminum, and yellow plastic with pink aluminum.
A photo of the Stoopid yo-yo. This is a purple yo-yo with a subtle fade (from light to dark) and white artwork lazer etched on the side. The yo-yo is slim and fits nicely in the pocket.
