I like to ask a variety of questions, sometimes silly, serious, and/or strange. Never asking in an attempt to pester or “just asking questions” stuff.

I’m generally curious and/or trying to get a sense of people’s views.

ALostInquirer,

Found the telemarketer time traveler

The greatest enemy of the time traveler? The telemarketers!

ALostInquirer,

They attached the blåhaj? That’s dedication! Congrats!

ALostInquirer,

How long and big were the letters? If long enough, make a biiiig angry letter out of them, but if the letters are already big, make a massive billboard of them and make everyone witness to your angst

ALostInquirer,

Wouldn’t the real last card be organizing & mounting a full blown insurrection? Not like the first attempt where he could try to keep his hands relatively clean of it, as he’s tried to do in a number of other criminal schemes related to his businesses.

Eastman Reiterates Support For Full Insurrection (talkingpointsmemo.com)

In an interview, John Eastman reiterated his belief that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump. He argued that the threat from the modern left has become so intolerable that it justifies overthrowing the government. Eastman claimed the stakes represent an existential threat to the nation’s survival. While he did not mention...

ALostInquirer,

Eastman claimed the stakes represent an existential threat to the nation’s survival.

Isn’t this more of a conflation of conservative policies with the nation itself? That is, if one supposes from Eastman & conservatives’ perspectives that conservative policies more accurately represent the nation, then their waning popularity in favor of liberal/leftist policies is the so-called “existential threat”.

Of course, the problem then becomes that the “solution” is essentially a seizing of power and the diminishment and outlawing of any oppositional policies and ideologies, which one may increasingly observe across various states’ passage of laws.

Do you think esports may eventually become as much of a phenomena as sports? How so?

Sports are a massive phenomena, to say the least, and esports definitely seems to want to try to become similar, but so far…I think it may be fair to say it’s struggling at that, outside of maybe some specific games and countries (…Is StarCraft still a thing in South Korea?)....

ALostInquirer,

You shouldn’t start freelancing if you dont have a client lined up or a network of potential clients. Job boards aren’t great as they typically are low rate contracts of companies looking to get a discount. If you do good work your clients will spread your name for you.

That’s sort of what I thought might be the case, albeit that leaves the question of how you work your way into the space to line them up and/or have a network of potential clients?

If it isn’t obvious already, I’m asking all of this from a position of near total ignorance on the subject, as I’ve only ever been familiar with more structured employment situations. Also asking around here instead of running searches because this is a subject ripe for trash advice articles and tips or scam “courses” or the like. If you (or anyone else) happens to have some informative resources on the topic though, I’d be interested in reading them!

Appreciate all the replies so far!

ALostInquirer,

No sir, I haven’t heard of it, but would you like a waffle?

ALostInquirer,

Yes, the best kind: imaginary syrup! The unlimited essence of deliciousness abounding, overflowing!

ALostInquirer,

But you agreed to it.

When does an agreement become null and void when the knowledge and time needed to understand the terms, and especially whether they even stand in the various jurisdictions, is simply unfeasible for a layperson to be expected to possess?

In a similar vein, if an agreement requires a lawyer on call/retainer to interpret, what court besides a bought court would possibly uphold such a standard?

Fwiw I’m not asking this with the expectation of you personally having the answers, but to further highlight the absurdity of many of these so-called agreements.

ALostInquirer,

Btw, did you know of Weightless Books and Smashwords?

They may not have as many ebooks as Amazon, but they do offer DRM free ebooks, and may be worth keeping in mind to check before going straight to Amazon.

ALostInquirer,

What software would that happen to be, supposing it’s not MakeMKV?

ALostInquirer,

Thanks! I’ve read that VLC can do it before, but I’ll look into giving it another shot sometime. The guides I found weren’t exactly the best, but with the mentioned packages I should be able to better narrow the searches to better guides, I think.
